Works independently with within established guidelines to provide drafting services as needed in support of manufacturing processes. Using the Synthes authorized CAD system, drafts all new or revised CAD generated documents submitted to the CAD Services group in manufacturing change packages.
May assist Automation Engineers or Technicians in the building or maintenance of custom machines or equipment built or serviced by the automation group.
Duties & Other Responsibilities:
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is to create or revise manufacturing process drawings which includes, but is not limited to, process sheets, inspection sheets and, setup sheets.
Secondary responsibility is to create or revise other types of drawings needed to support manufacturing, such as tooling drawings and gage drawings.
Maintains electronic objects (model and drawing files) by revision and release level in Synthes authorized (PLM) repository.
May be assigned duties to support the automation group as needed.
Interfaces on a regular basis with Document Control, Engineering, Production, Automation, and Quality personnel.
On occasion may interface with product development to meet drawing requests.
Performs other special projects or related administrative duties as assigned.

Professional Experience & Educational Requirements :
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of one year of continuous (mechanical) drafting experience with at least six months of that time being on a CAD system; preferably Pro/E. Successful completion of certified technical school training on a CAD system is considered equivalent to one year of continuous drafting experience. Two to three years of progressive drafting experience preferred.
Six months on the job is required to be proficient.
Ability to read electrical schematics a plus
Typically requires vocational school graduation.
Works in a manufacturing area.
Work is primarily sitting at a computer and requires strong mental and visual concentration in order to produce accurate drawings in a timely manner.
Secondary work may include tasks such as mechanical assembly or electrical wiring.
Must have a tolerance for interruptions and changing priorities and a demonstrated aptitude for working quickly and accurately.
Strong math skills including trigonometry and geometry as well as a working knowledge of the metric system.
