ECE Professional Development Programs Manager

THE POSITION

F5AC is a recipient of a CARES (Comprehensive Approaches to Raising Educational Standards) Plus award from First 5 California. We also contract with a number of colleges and universities in Alameda County to provide services to support the CARES work and to promote high quality professional development for the Early Care and Education (ECE) workforce in Alameda County.

We are recruiting for an ECE Professional Development Programs Manager to coordinate and manage these contracts and activities, including oversight of the CARES Plus award which is funded through June, 2016. This is a part-time (60-75%), non-exempt position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree in early care and education, child or human development, education, or related field; ECE units and coursework in business preferred

Plus A minimum of three years relevant work experience, with one year of program planning, administration, or evaluation experience required. Contracts or grants management and supervisory experience strongly preferred, and some experience working in an ECE setting or at a college/university is required. Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable about: 

Best practices in the Early Childhood field, and familiar with a range of ECE philosophies and pedagogy as well as programs and initiatives to promote high quality early education in CA 

Child Development Permit Matrix through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) requirements, application, and course verification process 

Community college and university ECE programs and curriculum 

Contract negotiation, development and management practices, along with basic budget and financial record keeping techniques

SALARY:

$60,000 annually (prorated for PT status) or $28.85/hour plus excellent benefits
