North East Medical Services (NEMS), a multi-specialty health care organization in San Francisco, is seeking a full-time EHR Application Specialist I. Under the direction of the EHR Project Manager, the EHR Trainer/Application Specialist (T/AS) ensures that EHR systems are effectively and efficiently deployed, managed and used at NEMS. The T/AS will build on her/his in depth knowledge both of NextGen (and other relevant applications used by NEMS) and of NEMS procedures, processes and policies to help users and managers leverage the EHR functionality.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • training and support of end users in using NextGen
  • reporting and resolving trouble tickets with NextGen tech support.
  • supporting and managing continuous quality improvement process a.) systematically identify and follow up on quality problems b.) help design, implement and maintain improvements to system configuration, training and/or workflows
  • researching, testing and recommending system/functionality enhancements and upgrades
  • project administration/coordination/management as required
  • creating and maintaining documentation including internal procedure manuals and end-user facing documentation

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, including written and oral communication with both technical, clinical and administrative staff.
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills
  • 1-2 years experience with clinical processes and workflow in community clinic, including direct interaction with both patients and MDs
  • Training and support experience in both 1-1 and classroom settings, including creation of training and support manuals
  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for quality improvement processes
  • exceptional organization skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrated experience in taking initiative and following up on tasks
  • MS Office skills: Excel pivot tables, Visio process diagrams, Powerpoint presentations
  • NextGen Certified Professional preferred
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, problem solving, presentation and interpersonal communication.
  • Chinese speaking a plus
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate team members and system users.
