Job consists of routine safety and environmental audits and inspections of all Gandy's facilities. Perform accident investigations and implement corrective actions as required. Manage Safety Committee and accident review board and the assignment of disciplinary measures as required. Perform required monthly safety training and new hire safety orientations. Manage, evaluate and implement changes as needed for required OSHA safety programs such as: PPE, Hazard Communications, MSDS, Chemical databases, Process Safety Management, Risk Management, Powered Industrial Truck, Contractor-Vendor Insurance Certificate Program, Contractor Safety, DOT Fleet safety, Safety Incentive Program and others as required. Manage environmental programs such as storm water, spill prevention and countermeasure control, risk management program, wastewater, Tier II and Form R. Assist HR manager with drug and alcohol screening process as required. Work closely with OIB Claim Administrator at Corporate Risk Management. Administer non-subscriber occupational injury benefit program.
Basic understanding of Federal, State and Local regulatory compliance agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOT & TCEQ
Good Management and communication skills with the ability to work alone as well as within a team setting is a must.
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, Power Point
Associate of Science degree in safety and/or environmental is preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years experience in related fields of safety, health and environmental is preferred.
