In this role of Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator, you will:
Provide EHS operational support to the New Orleans Service Center to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and specific GE regulations
Maintain each facility’s compliance records for MOE permits (review federal, state and local regulation changes that impact permits and permit compliance)
Implement Environmental, Health, & Safety procedures, programs and systems at site level
Conduct & manage health & safety training of site personnel
Conduct & manage self-assessments to ensure compliance with all country specific & GE regulations
Assist operations personnel in developing a knowledge base for site compliance
Coordinate with all levels of GE (Professionals & Craft) to determine EHS solutions for business issues on a day-to-day basis
Maintain computerized EHS metrics
Be a leader in driving EHS Culture Change at the site
Work on EHS digitization efforts either independently or as part of a team
Work in collaboration with other EHS Coordinators and attend required EHS Team meetings
Support network team with business / operational tasks as needed
Associate degree related to EHS (or High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of EHS experience)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to work and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work with teams and be an EHS resource for non-EHS meetings
Capable of working independently to determine priorities in a self-directed manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer competency including: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree related to EHS
Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or service environment
Experience working in a service and repair setting with represented (Union) employees
Someone who is willing to work in a rapidly growing business and assist in the development of a proactive EHS culture consistent with GE expectations
Greenbelt Certification (GE Employees only)
Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent certification
Experience in Industrial Hygiene
Additional Business / Sales Management experience and skills to support and sustain daily operations and business support operations
Experience in facility maintenance and vendor allocation
Working knowledge of GE applications such as Gensuite, Compas, and Kronos
