        Role is intended to be the Global Lead / Tech Steward for Environmental Health across all ACS Operations Facilities. As Environmental Health Manager, you will provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in EH activities..Key expertise / activities will include: (1) Regulatory Compliance - local and national compliance regardless of country, m aintain reporting records/calendar to ensure compliance, r espond to potential events, s pearhead green field and expansion projects at all facilities within the Division to ensure compliance, and conduct p eriodic audits internally & in conjunction with Corporate EHS ( 2) Sustainable Development - spearhead a Divisional Council that shares best practices, m aintain governance of metrics and drive actions, s ponsor projects at the Divisional level for improvement and e execute a Divisional Awareness campaign ( 3) Health: - develop Divisional Industrial Hygiene Program, m aintain calendar and records to ensure compliance Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: This position is recognized as one of the best in the company in a technical specialty. In addition to demonstrating a mastery of EHS concepts, this position may be expected to lead a project or program to completion. However, major focus is on technical delivery. Direct work with other units, suppliers, agency personnel, dealers and teams require the incumbent to demonstrate skill in negotiation, building consensus and achieving compromise. Impact of decisions made by this position may be far-reaching, to include the project team or immediate work group, division and/or business unit, external customers, and Caterpillar facilities worldwide. Strong communication, leadership, project management and business management skills are essential. Major challenges facing incumbents are keeping up-to-date with technology and regulations and demonstrating technical expertise in a specialty area. This position must demonstrate the ability to develop and manage a complex project to plan. Technical leadership skills are essential and the incumbent must be able to communicate effectively across the organization, as well as universities, technical societies, governmental agencies and other organizations responsible for developing technology and/or regulations. This position must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience and staying abreast of technology and regulations. An EHS Professional IV should develop technical expertise in a specialty area. Individuals in this position will also want to focus on gaining increased knowledge of the business including the financial aspects. Other skills critical to this position are problem solving, process definition and knowledge of Caterpillar processes and benchmarking data within the area of technical expertise. Leads successful projects to completion resulting in the resolution of issues such as conflicting technical objectives, unsuitability of standard procedures, and difficult coordination requirements. Studies and recommends unique solutions to evolving regulatory issues that will impact operations on a corporate level Develops comprehensive programs to be utilized at facilities across Business Units. Provides leadership in the establishment of corporate EHS strategy. Interpret new and pending regulations and communicate issues within area of expertise to EHS coordinators. Educating EHS managers and operational staff on the impact of current and future regulations Represents the corporation in the development of new regulations through manufacturing organizations and other participation with outside agencies. Qualifications Required Qualifications: *Degree in an appropriate scientific discipline *Strong analytical skills are essential. *Extensive understanding of complex EHS regulations and applications *Requires a self-starter with strong technical leadership skills. * Excellent human relation skills Desired Qualifications: *Advanced degree/job-related certifications *6-9 years previous job-related experience *Experience working with regulatory agencies Additional Information: Relocation is available.
