The Environmental Health & Safety Site Manager will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
Provide input to “Site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Focal Point” and/or site management on various EHS issues
Initiate and influence integration of EHS policies and practices into the business
Implement / modify EHS programs and procedures to ensure company compliance
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
Work with consultants and contractors on related EHS issues
Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems
Conduct EHS education programs
Provide and determine alternatives for issue resolution
Develop and work with site teams focused on EHS program development, implementation and improvement
Measure progress toward successfully meeting corporate expectations
Manage function-related costs across site
Integrate EHS function with site operations
Supervise and coach EHS personnel
Participate in EHS issue resolution
Manage department budget
Ensure effective EHS education programs are in place
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience with EHS systems)
Minimum of 3 additional years of experience with exposure to several EHS areas in a manufacturing environment

Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside GE (regulatory agencies)
Established program management ability
Experience with California environmental regulations
