Specialized clerical work to include establishing procedures for specific departmental programs. Assist public with questions or problems and directs them to the proper entity or personnel. Duties also require some receptionist work.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists in all operations of the department;
Sets up and maintains databases for but not limited to the following: Search and Rescue (SAR), Community Emergency Response Teams (C.E.R.T.), Citizen Corp group, Special Needs, Faith Based Partners;
Maintain documentation of Comprehensive Emergency Management Plant (CEMP), emergency management guides, plans and informational documents;
Handle walk in and call in requests or complaints from citizens assisting them with needed information; Write reports on filed requests or complaints whenever necessary;
Direct citizens to appropriate division or personnel for assistance;
Work with minimal supervision;
Requires travel to mobile sites within the county;
Perform related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS: Communicate using speaking, hearing and vision skills; operate a motor vehicle.


KNOWLEDGE OF: General Office equipment; working knowledge of Database software; functions of County government; geographical layout of Santa Rosa County, including streets and highways; different agencies or organizations available to assist citizens.

ABILITY TO: Speak clearly and distinctly in a well modulated and pleasant voice using correct grammar and choice of words; react calmly and use common sense when assisting citizens; write legible and detailed reports in Standard English; type.

SKILLS: Use of computer, calculator and related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you MUST submit documentation (ie diplomas or transcripts reflecting graduation) of the education requirements listed below. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected.

Graduation from high school or GED. Two years experience dealing with public, including one-year administrative/clerical experience. Type 25 wpm.

LICENSE: Applicant must have a valid State of Florida Driver's License at the date of hire and maintain said license while employed in this position.
