Assist and perform a variety of diverse tasks related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other related Title VII Laws and city policy compliance. Evaluate, investigate and prepare findings in response to claims of discrimination and harassment and provide supervisors and employees with advice related to prevention of workplace discrimination and harassment. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, sociology, psychology, political science or a related field, plus four (4) years professional experience in the research, analysis, or investigation of legal compliance related to EEOC, ADA, Affirmative Action and related discrimination actions. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Principles, practices and applications of prohibited discrimination
Facilitation / mediation methods and techniques
Methods and techniques of discrimination investigation
Modern office equipment including computers, on-line research, excel spreadsheets, Power Point
Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations governing discrimination
Basic operations, services and activities of an internal ADA process
Recent developments, current literature and information related to ADA requirements and/or compliance
Investigate discrimination/employment claims and prepare reports
Develop and implement a variety of nondiscrimination programs
Prepare clear and concise reports
Evaluate discrimination claims based on pertinent Federal, State and local regulations, including City rules and regulations
Develop and maintain information systems used to compile, collect and organize data
Communicate effectively in written and oral form and in front of groups
Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing ADA services
Interpret and explain City policies and procedures
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the general public
