As an Employment Specialist, you are responsible for the administration of employment processes in accordance with Allegiant’s hiring guidelines and policies. This position will support the Recruiting function in various, customer-serving aspects of employment from coordinating/scheduling all phases of interviews through the on-boarding process. This role will interact with Recruiters, Hiring Managers, People Services, and applicants both internal and external. The Employment Specialist will contribute to the overall success of the Recruiting group by providing a high level of customer service and quality throughout the recruiting and on-boarding process.


- Schedules candidate interviews and associated travel arrangements

- Assists in Ultirpro Recruitment Gateway - opening requisitions; real-time candidate dispositioning; drafting offer letters; closing requisitions, sending out offer packets

- Assumes responsibility from Recruiters for job-offered applicants in terms of communicating with them and the hiring managers the status of the background check and drug test process

- Assists in marketing of approved positions on internal/external career site and job boards

- Facilitates background and drug check process; communicates with People Services management, Compliance Manager and hiring managers to illuminate problems that arise with a candidate during that process

- Interacts with Compliance Manager to arrange for applicant fingerprinting, reference checking, and new hire badging processes

- Processes all Team Member’s EAFs, notice of separations and new hire paperwork including scanning

- Communicates in person, via phone and email with applicants in pre-processing, Team Members, Payroll, and management at all levels of the Company and outside the organization to serve Team Members’ needs

- Maintains current knowledge of the Company and is able to represent People Services in New Hire Orientation and/or other presentations

- Travels with recruiters to job fairs and recruiting events around the Allegiant system

- Performs special projects as assigned by People Services management

- Sound multi-tasking and self-organization capabilities within tight timelines

- Strong attention to detail while being results and solution driven

- History of working independently with little direction

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships

- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and follow-up

- Must demonstrate a positive and polished Customer Service demeanor to all internal and external Customers

- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug screen

- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986


- Minimum of Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience


- 1-2 years Human Resources experience, preferably in recruitment and on-boarding

- Experience working with an Applicant Tracking Systems (i.e. UltiPro, Taleo, etc.)


- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (emphasis in Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Working knowledge of Ultipro HRIS a huge plus

- Understanding of general HR practices and processes

- Knowledge of all general office equipment, e.g. computer, fax, printer, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system, and calculator


General cubicle office environment

10% travel required


Sitting, reaching, bending and standing. Periodic travel by car between Allegiant offices and McCarran Airport.
