Provides basic emergency care to patients transported by the ambulance service.
Responsible for participating in the delivery of non-emergency and emergency patient care in accordance with Basic Life Support Protocols and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations under the direction of the paramedic on duty. Performs skills common to the clinical area.
Knowledge usually gained while obtaining a high school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to determine priorities of patient care.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and established protocols.
Ability to make decisions quickly and independently under stress.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to accurately document, in the ePCR platform, pertinent facts, findings and observations in a complete, grammatically correct fashion.
Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions.
Acceptable driving record and at least 23 years of age (for insurance purposes).
Working knowledge of McDonald County roads.
Ability to work regularly with confidential and personnel information.
Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Ability to perform duties accurately and independently.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff, physicians, patients, and families.
ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Current Missouri Emergency Medical Technician license.
Current Class E Driver's License or bordering state's equivalent.
