DESCRIPTION

Responds to calls for emergency assistance and administers immediate first aid, life support care to sick and injured patients in prehospital setting. Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance. Incumbent will administer initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs. Position requires emergency medical technician (EMT) certification.
Responsible for the protection of tribal assets, safety of tribal members, employees and students. Incumbent will be required to respond, in the event of a man-made crisis or natural disaster, to protect lives and reduce suffering among those affected. Make verbal and written reports to supervisors. Interact with law enforcement personnel and other representatives of adjacent departments and emergency response agencies.
Must maintain an attitude of cooperation with all employees, members and guests at all times.

DUTIES

Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:

&61558;Train and respond as required as a member of an emergency response/ disaster mitigation team.
&61558;Maintain daily activity reports
&61558;Prepare narrative and incident reports as required and in accordance with established directives.
&61558;Observe, control and report incidents, activities and circumstances.
&61558;Functions in uncommon and often physically dangerous situations;
&61558;Has a basic understanding of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being;
&61558;Has an understanding of body substance isolation;
&61558;Understands basic medical-legal principles;

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

&61558; EMT Basic Certificate of Training
&61558;Trauma training preferred, although not required.

QUALIFICATIONS

&61558; Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and Physical Assessment test

&61558; Must be able to follow oral and written instructions

&61558; Able to communicate orally and effectively.

&61558; Must possess written skills for preparing various documents required by security personnel.

&61558; Provide superior customer service and public relations skills.

&61558; Able to work with supervision and/or independently

&61558; Able to organize workload in order to meet deadlines.

&61558; Strong conflict resolution skills

REQUIRED

&61558; EMT Basic Certificate of Training

&61558; CPR Certified

&61558; A current California Drivers License
