This position is located in Barstow, CA.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.

DUTIES:
The selectee will serve as an Engineering Technician and provide engineering support services in the field of construction contracts. Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Review, assess and resolve complex and diverse (e.g. multistory, multi-trade, multiple technologies) construction and design problems.
  • Provide technical oversight of multiple construction contracts, review contract packages including plans and specifications, prepare quality assurance plans, and provide overall coordination of construction operations.
  • Coordinate construction operations between contractors, stations personnel and other government agencies; and ensure that arrangements are made for construction site access and utilities, gate passes and clearances, storage areas, and government furnished equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Providing engineering support services in the field of construction contracts between the Navy and private parties (individuals, corporations, or partnerships) involving construction of buildings, pavements, and utility systems.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Facilities Engineering Career Field and be certified at Level II at the time of application. REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Position may require occasional travel. (5 days per month)

Selectee will be required to complete and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, prior to entering the position and annually thereafter.

Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing, and reaching.

Work requires lifting and moving heavy items.

Work requires above average dexterity and agility.

Selectee may be exposed to rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; machinery and carts with moving parts, and irritant chemicals.

Must be able to wear personal type safety equipment such as hard hats, masks, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, and fall protection.

Work in performed indoors with regular recurring visits to construction sites.
