Parsons Brinckerhoff has an immediate opening for an Environmental Scientist in our Baltimore, MD office with experience in conducting natural resource evaluations/assessments and wetland/waterway permitting for transportation/infrastructure projects. Responsibilities will include working as a technical lead in conducting natural environmental evaluations, and providing support in JPA permit preparation, processing, negotiating and tracking of wetland/waterway permit applications. The candidate should have experience in wetland delineation/functional assessment; habitat/biological/water quality assessments; and Maryland’s Environmental/JPA permitting process. Experience on wetland mitigation/stream restoration projects is desirable. Responsibilities also include preparing technical reports and basic graphics using GIS and other software. Candidate must have excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and be comfortable in both field and office environments.
The ideal candidate must have a BS in Environmental Science, Biology, or related degree from an accredited school plus 5 years minimum experience. Must have the ability to immediately work in the United States.

- Familiarity with federal/state laws/regulations pertaining to natural resources in the Mid Atlantic region, including wetlands/WUS, floodplains, forests, and endangered species.
- Possess a command of the latest accepted methodologies for conducting natural resource evaluations, such as wetland delineation/functional assessment and habitat/biological/water quality assessment methods.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have the ability to work with GIS/CADD/GPS applications.
