Teach credit English-as-a-Second Language courses to diverse adult learners. Provide leadership in curriculum, computer assisted language learning (CALL), assessment and mentoring for adjunct faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in the discipline or in a related discipline with minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in ESL required. Master’s degree in ESL/TESL/TEFL/TESOL preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with at least two years experience teaching ESL with higher education, community college or secondary school teaching. May involve travel to other campuses, for day, evening and/or weekend classes. Candidates selected to interview must submit a teaching portfolio as part of the interview process, along with completing a teaching demonstration. 177 day, 9-month contract. Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval. Hiring process includes a background check. NOTE: College degrees obtained outside the U.S. accepted only when interpreted by transcript service members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
