Must have a Bachelors Degree.
Must have a teaching background, preference will be given to those with TESOL Certification.
Must be adaptable to people with diverse cultures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To teach persons of other languages the English language
To test and grade tests.
To report progress and regressions using the proper paperwork in a timely manner.
Responsible for linking instruction to the learner’s academic needs as determined by the results of a valid, reliable assessment and reassessment for literacy level instruction through ESL instruction.
Conflict resolution in the classroom
Must provide a respectful and supportive learning environment.
Keep accurate records and report student’s progress to the department on a timely basis.
Attending local and state in-service meetings
Administer assessment instruments to diagnose, evaluate, and place adult learners in the proper educational functioning level for literacy level instruction through ESL instruction.
