Provides enterprise data warehousing solutions, including design and development of efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. Extracts and moves data to databases, data marts and data warehouses, organizing and grouping information for ease of use. Ensures data integrity and compliance by performing data cleansing, audit and validation. Participates in ETL design and development efforts, providing work estimates, performing code reviews, reporting project status and leading projects. Collaborates with other technology team members and internal customers to define customer requirements, assess available technologies and develop, test and present solutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides enterprise data warehousing solutions, including design and development of ETL processes, mappings and workflows using Informatica’s PowerCenter.
·
Extracts and moves data to databases, data marts and data warehouses, organizing and grouping information for ease of use. Defines and captures metadata and rules associated with ETL processes. Creates Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and provides in-depth understanding of data model(s). Plans and document test procedures. Performs design and coding walkthroughs.

Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements. Extracts data from outside sources, transforms data to fit operational needs and loads data to end target, including databases, data marts and data warehouses.

Ensures data integrity and compliance with development and documentation standards by performing data cleansing, audit and validation.
·
Participates in ETL design and development efforts, providing work estimates, performing code reviews, reporting project status and leading projects. Creates related documentation.
·
Collaborates with other technology team members and internal customers to define customer requirements, assess available technologies and develop and present solutions.
·
Provides high level of customer service, partnering with end-users in the resolution of issues or deployment of enhancements.
·
Provides training in ETL processes and procedures as needed.
·
Has knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications and an understanding of networks.
·
Works on multiple hands-on ETL development projects. Offers sound guidance to team discussions about data migration and ETL solutions.
·
May lead work of others in the role of technical mentor.
·
Guides the design and construction of business critical mappings and workflows. Independently creates complex ETL mappings and workflows. Mentors junior team members.
·
Plans and defines forward-thinking data handling improvements.
·
Independently creates efficient ETL solutions which make best use of Informatica features, database schemas and performance considerations.

Recommends credible enhancements in response to business need
·
Provides hands-on contribution to projects up to medium/high technical complexity, including ability to work independently to develop and test ETL solutions which require little or no rework.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

EXPERIENCE:
·


Typically 3-7+ years related experience.

Understanding of data modeling techniques.

Experience working with Informatica, relational database concepts, and data warehousing.
·
Ability to work in a team of ETL developers.

Comfort with making system performance decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results.

This individual should be familiar with formal system development methodologies and will be responsible for following the appropriate IDEXX IT methodologies and specifications.
