Position Description:
Develop business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications; design, code, test, debug, document and support all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value; provide accurate and timely estimates for tasks; provide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolution; support the team for application availability, reliability and stability; conduct and facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan; achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding service level agreements; and conduct code review to ensure the work delivered is of high quality with the least defects; understand the existing ETL process in SAS and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); perform monthly/quarterly run of production process; develop QA processes for the existing ETL process; work with business to prioritize production issue resolution and will work with the Service Manager in process improvement initiatives; design and develop reporting environment and reports using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS); design, develop and ETL process using SSIS, SAS, Visual Studio, Datastage and/or Informatica. Candidate should have experience working with and analyzing healthcare administrative medical or pharmacy claims data to support data feeds to downstream applications, data marts and end-users and be proficient in database design, extracting, loading, querying, optimization & troubleshooting with the following RDBMS: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and Teradata.

Primary Responsibilities:
Solid organizational skills and focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Providing accurate and timely estimates for tasks

Provide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolution

Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan

Work with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements

Conduct code review to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high quality standards

Work with business to prioritize production issue resolution

Work with the Service Manager in process improvement initiatives as directed by the service.

Requirements

Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED

Bachelor's Degree or 7+ years of ETL experience

5+ years of SQL experience (writing complex queries and code optimization)

5+ years of DTS and/or SSIS development experience

5+ years of ETL experience

5+ years of Data Warehousing experience (database concepts)

Assets:
Business Intelligence experience (using Microsoft suite, Cognos, etc.)

Experience working with and analyzing healthcare administrative medical or pharmacy claims data to support data feeds to downstream applications

Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and Teradata

Experience with Visual Basic

Experience with SAS
