Position Summary

The Enterprise Information and Analytics team within the University of Arizona is looking for an experienced IBM DataStage/Ascential developer to support the PeopleSoft EPM Data Warehouse. The Enterprise Data Warehouse (using OBIEE+ and Fusion Intelligence) combines data from various transaction systems including PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Kuali KFS, and Kuali Coeus. The person working in this position will primarily focus on designing, developing and implementing the ETL processes for the PeopleSoft and Kuali contents of the data warehouse. This person will be paired with a subject matter expert to deliver all the data warehousing and business intelligence functionality to support the implementation of new modules. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writing DataStage 8.x jobs for the new EPM warehouse; * Creating and reviewing dimensional data models; * Acting as an ETL consultant for other areas or teams; * Providing input and support for upgrades, capacity planning, and "best practices" * Possibly gathering and analyzing business, data and reporting requirements, plus documentation and specification of requirements; * Varied work hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of experience developing data warehouse ETL jobs with IBM/Ascential DataStage; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education; * Two years or more of Oracle RDBMS; * Work experience in Human Resources, financial and/or student system fields; * Experience in using a scheduling tool like Autosys or Control-M to schedule Datastage Jobs.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience with IBM/Ascential DataStage * Significant experience creating DataStage 8.x jobs * Experience with IBM Metadata Workbench and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (previously Siebel Analytics) * Strong technical understanding of ERP data structures and how they relate to establishing data warehousing, data management, and analytic architectures * Ability to develop business requirements and translate them into a data warehouse dimensional model * Effective communication skills * Ability to multi-task and meet negotiated timelines * Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as function as a team member
