The Advanced Occupational Education ( AOE ) Horticulture and Landscape Instruction Program is a contractual program funded by the U. S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons to help inmate populations gain job skills prior to release. An Extension Program Assistant for this program will serve as the lead instructor, delivering approximately 24 of the 30 hours of instruction weekly as required in the contract. The teaching will include a combination of classroom instruction, field assignments and “hands-on” work experience training. This is a contract-funded, time-limited position.
A high school diploma.

A demonstrated ability to plan and deliver horticulture and landscape education lessons.
A high school diploma – horticulture industry experience of at least two years or an A.S. degree in Landscape or Horticulture Technology or related field. Industry training or work experience or certifications. Willingness to have frequent and unsupervised contact with inmates. Ability to follow directions and complete reports.
