Teach 12 semester hours of day and/or evening courses in undergraduate Early Childhood Education (birth to age 8) within the MSU Denver teacher preparation program. Must effectively advise, work with and demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of students from diverse student populations, identify placements and supervise clinical experiences and/or student teachers. Must work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and teach ECE courses and develop positive reciprocal relationships with schools and agencies in the community.

Teach 12 semester hours of day and/or evening courses in undergraduate Early Childhood Education (birth to age 8). Courses may include Foundations of ECE ; preschool content area curriculum such as social studies, science, and/or math; and early childhood development, evaluation, and assessment. Effectively advise undergraduate students five scheduled hours per week. Demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of students from diverse, urban student populations. Supervise clinical experiences and/or student teachers. Demonstrate commitment to teaching and advising, professional development, and service to the University and professional community.
All but Dissertation ( ABD )
Doctorate in Early Childhood Education or related field. If in a related field, prior degree(s) must be in ECE . Minimum of three years professional teaching experience birth-Kindergarten (1st-3rd grades also valued). Must include experience outside of candidate’s own educational degree program. Professional experience working with children, families and communities in a variety of early childhood settings. Experience integrating knowledge of content area learning trajectories and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Willingness to collaborate in partnerships with preschools, K-6 schools and early childhood agencies. Be sensitive to and knowledgeable about issues in the field of early childhood education. Work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population. Work effectively with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and teach ECE courses that will effectively support the success of effective early childhood teachers.
