Description
In this position you will support the proprietary trading activities of the Global Funding Group of Treasury and the Emerging Markets Trading group. Your primary role will be to provide analytics and quantitative support to develop trading models as well as analyze the interrelationship of global economic and financial variables, to explain and determine causations.
You will produce quantitative analysis, update trading and market models and create others on demand to support proprietary trading activities and disseminate insights to other areas of the company.
In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining communication and collaborate with other analysis groups within Cargill, and maintain relationships with strategists/economic analysts from bank counterparties.
You must have an excellent understanding of international economics, good experience in quantitative research and applied mathematics and statistics and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
40% -Develop analytics and trading models
10% - Update market models
20% - Analyze international economic variables and their effect to financial markets
20% - Analyze global flows and create weekly report.
10% - Liaise with other markets analytics groups within Cargill and within bank counterparties
Qualifications
Required:
Masters (or higher) degree in Economics
Strong quantitative and statistical knowledge
2 + years of business experience in similar field
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge and understanding of markets in general
Preferred:
3 + years of working or academic experience in economic research
Proficiency in Bloomberg/Matlab/Eviews/Stata
