The Georgia Department of
Human Services, Division
of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for
our Economic Support Associate
position in Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia.
The Division of Family
and Children Services (DFCS) is the part of DHS that investigates
child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children;
helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists
with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in
job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative
programs to help troubled families.
The Economic Support Specialist interviews and investigates applicants
and recipients to determine eligibility for use of social programs
and agency resources.
Our ideal candidate will have
an Undergraduate degree and experience that involved screening or
High School Diploma/GED and 24 months experience
which involved screening or interviewing customer/clients as a regular
part of the job
12 months as a Economic Support Specialist/Associate (FICM/Associate)
Candidates invited to interview should be prepared to discuss (among
other areas) one or more of the following:
Establishing professional relationships
Corporate communications skills (dress/demeanor, oral/written,
attention to detail)
Note : A test
that covers computations (math) and reading comprehension is part
of the interview process
