Working closely with Managing Editor, Acquisition Editors, and Publisher, manage the editorial process from manuscript acquisition through development stages.
Coordinate and execute content development on ancillary projects, including instructor CDs, instructor testbanks, student workbooks, companion websites, online courses, ebooks, etc
Send manuscripts to review, including contacting reviewers, scheduling reviewer deadlines, and maintaining a spreadsheet of reviewers
Populate database of figures and tables for production and permissions departments
Assist with checking page proofs for chapters, cover, frontmatter, and backmatter
Prepare and format clean files for revision authors
Work with fellow editors to create and finalize content
Write copy and copyedit as needed
Maintain status reports, be the ‘go to’ person for status requests for his or her projects
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
1 to 2 years work experience, exposure to the publishing process particularly as applies to editorial processes of educational/textbook publishing, advantageous.
Complete computer literacy, familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc) and email.
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills required.
