$8.63 per hour
2.5 hours per shift. Daily morning and evening classes will run weekly per district calendar. Subbing is an option.
Nature and Scope of Job
Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible member of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the Parent Involvement Facilitator and where assigned.
Education, Licenses, Certification or Formal Training
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Applicant must have the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position. Previous experience working supervising and interacting with young children. Strong verbal communication skills, ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs, desire to work in team setting, positive attitude, upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs required. Preschool paraprofessional experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred, but not required.
Essential Job Functions
• Provide care for and supervise young children while parents are attending classes, parent meetings, and other school activities.
• Help children with homework, reading, math and literacy.
• Work with children to play independently or in small groups.
• Encourage children to learn from one another.
