The Eikon SDK provides internal and third party development organizations with a mechanism for creating and deploying financial applications to the Eikon platform. It provides hosting for user interfaces, web services and databases, as well as development tools for their creation and tools for their administration, deployment and maintenance. In addition to providing a standardized tool set for creating conforming applications, it also provides access to common services for security and access to the Thomson Reuters content sets. The Eikon SDK Platform Evangelist is tasked with educating the targeted consumer base of this platform with its benefits, capabilities and best practice usage, building enthusiasm around it, driving adoption, and creating an active user community to share knoweledge and provide support.
Day to day responsibilities include: delivering presentations and conducting smaller meetings with senior decision makers, architects, and developers on technical as well as strategic topics; driving the creation, and successful completion, of pilot implementation projects; creation of example projects and how-to materials to include written documents and videos; creation of other media initiatives such as news letters, videos, and other forms of communication; create and ensure the active participation in users groups; creating and monitoring metrics that accurately represent the degree of success achieved by the program and continuously improving the program to achieve ever better alignment across the organization and adoption in the third party community; communicate future development plans to the user community and help users mitigate challenges due to near term inadequacies in the platform; communicate lessons learned from the user community to the development organization to help shape future enhancements and set priorities.

BS in Computer Science or related field and equivalent industry experience preferred. Advanced degree in Computer Science preferred.
Broad architectural knowledge of large scale systems and development processes associated with their development and maintenance. Deep technical knowledge of programming practices, methodologies and languages with expertise in either C , C# or C /CLI and experience developing productively in at least one of these technologies. Excellent communication and persuasive skills, both written and oral as well as public speaking. The successful candidate will have "presence" with both developers and managers in both formal and informal settings and in front of both large and small groups. Ability to forge strong trust-based relationships. 2-5 years experience in a technical/platform evangelist or equivalent role. Demonstrated ability to drive significant change in organizations through persuasive rather than coercive means.
