THIS RECRUITMENT IS TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBLE LIST OF TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES TO FILL TWO (2) VACANCIES TO PERFORM DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH RECRUITING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE 2014 ELECTION CYCLE. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS. SALARY: $14.58/HOUR.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST BE A MARYLAND REGISTERED VOTER PRIOR TO THE DATE OF HIRE AND MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK.
Duties are to assist full-time Election Judge Recruiters with identifying, recruiting, scheduling and evaluating the performance of approximately 4,000 registered voters who serve at polling places during early voting and on Election Day. Will assist full-time personnel in identifying staffing needs, recruiting prospective Election Judges in person and by telephone and email, including initiating contact with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures; recruiting multilingual workers and individuals affiliated with different political parties for each voting location; scheduling prospective Election Judges for training; answering questions from Election Judges and maintaining data in a computer database. The work may involve occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to fifty pounds.

during regular office hours, 5 days a week from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and must be available to work extended hours as needed including significant overtime. Must have access to own transportation to travel to work assignments at locations across the county.
