The principal focus of this position is to optimize production with existing process and equipment while increasing capacity as needed through equipment additions. The principal challenge of this position is maximize throughput while minimizing cost and ensuring safety.

AlcoTec Wire Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The ESAB Group and part of Colfax Corporation, and is located in Traverse City, Michigan.

AlcoTec is a production environment: this position is provided with an office but is expected to work within the production to accomplish the majority of the tasks.

DUTIES

Responsibilities:
1. Perform work in a safe manner following all EH&S procedures and reporting EH&S concerns; train staff to perform work safely and within EH&S guidelines; and create a safe work environment.
2. Provide electrical expertise in the design of new equipment; and, in the maintenance and improvement of existing equipment and facilities,
3. Responsible for the electrical control and automation systems, and power distribution systems plant wide.
4. Provide direction, training, instruction and hands-on assistance as necessary for the maintenance group.
5. Promoting and enforcing all AlcoTec, NFPA, and MIOSHA safety rules and policies.
6. Regularly evaluating subordinate(s) performance and providing honest feedback, coaching, and development.
7. Support and participate in corporate initiatives that improve overall business performance as needed such as lean, EH&S, etc...

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Minimum 5 years of experience.
3. Organization: ability to organize and assume responsibility under minimal supervision.
4. Human Relations Skills: ability to interact with all levels of the organization in an appropriate and professional manner.
5. Travel: flexibility to travel overnight.
6. Computer & Office: proficient on office equipment and computers, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, PLC, Motor Drive, and HMI programming and problem analysis.
