Description of Duties/Qualifications
The mission of the Electrical Engineer 2 is to perform product development and support activities including design analysis, CAD operation, interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and requirements.
The EE 2 should work independently, with minimal necessary engineering support, and have a good working knowledge of medical imaging devices and their use in the field.
To accomplish this mission, the EE 2 must have advanced skills and education, and the ability to work with others.
Design and test electronic circuitry for video camera products and accessories.
Draw schematics using CAD software.
Develop methods and design strategies for improving manufacturability and reducing cost.
Work independently to provide input to the engineering group in the specification of electrical design and implementation.
Primary engineering responsibility for transitioning new products to manufacturing.
Coordinate PCB design and layout activities including: creating and maintaining Linvatecâs DFM data, working with consultants for board layout and fabrication, transfer data from new PCB designs to manufacturing engineering for production assembly.
Provide existing product line support in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production.
Provide work leadership and training to lower level professional and technical staff.
Support design control documentation requirements according to FDA GMP part 820 and ISO 9000.
Maintain engineering drawings as required to incorporate design or process changes.
Create and present necessary DCNâs and ensure necessary changes are properly documented and validated per Linvatec procedures.
Explore product improvements in CAPA system.
Design and carry out experiments to simulate field use of the product and formalize protocols per Linvatec procedures.
Design and build custom test set-ups and work with necessary test equipment.
Carefully document results, analyze data, and make conclusions concerning product safety and effectiveness.
3 years of relevant work experience with a B.S. or 0 years of relevant work experience with a M.S..Must have experience with schematic capture, PCB CAD, SMT DFM, PCB fabrication methods. Should understand current computer aided tools for mechanical design e.g. AutoCAD.
B.S. degree in Engineering.
Technical Knowledge - Ability to design with digital and analog circuits especially as it applies to CCD cameras.
Ability to design with programmable logic devices, microcontrollers, and DSPâs.
Working knowledge of microprocessor PLD and DSP software design and ability to program using C and assembly languages.
Product Knowledge - Must understand the theory of operation for a CCD imaging system.
Must have specific, in depth knowledge of the application of Linvatecâs product.
Process Knowledge - Must understand the processes and equipment used to manufacture Linvatec Camera systems e.g. SMT.
