The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for design/development, modification and evaluation of primarily electronic parts, components or controls/integrated circuitry for hardware and/or other systems. May contribute to total system engineering, including other engineering disciplines. May be involved in all phases of design and development from initial concept to manufacturing. Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results. Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use. May also review vendors’ abilities to support development. Depending on level, may function as a project engineer/leader with the resident responsibilities of proposals/project plan, schedules, work assignments, prime contact, technical presentations, cross functional issue resolution, etc. Is expected to keep up to date on technical advances in the discipline and related fields.
Responsibilities: Design electrical hardware, low voltage electrical circuits including Electrical Requirement and Development Specifications for medical products from concept through release. Follow good design practices & prepare documentation to support design reviews. Power, analog and digital interface design using appropriate design and simulation tools. Develop and maintain Electrical panel schematics, controls and systems Schematics for large automated equipment. Support transition from development to production. Transition includes System Schematics, PCB Schematic + layout and harnesses. Apply Electrical Engineering techniques to accomplish goals. Certain degree of creativity and latitude required. Able to take responsibilities and get the job done.
Requirements: BS Electrical Engineering. Masters a plus. 8 - 10 years of experience in automated equipment or related field. Experience with Cadence OrCAD Capture and PSpice for design and Simulation. Altium Designer is a plus. AutoCAD for cable drawings and harnesses. Familiar with CE and NEC standards and codes. Hands on experience with PCB Layout is a plus. Any PLM experience. Oracle Agile a plus.
