We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer with 3+ years of experience at the Sweeny Complex located in Sweeny, Texas. This site is located south of Houston. Non-company sponsored van pools are available from both Sugar Land and Pearland, TX. The successful candidate will provide electrical support to the technical engineering organization within the plant. Strong technical skills in electrical troubleshooting, motor repair, short circuit/ relay coordination, and power system studies are essential. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Works collaboratively with plant departments and outside service suppliers for evaluation and development of a long term plan for reliable and safe supply of electrical services to maintain plant operations.
Develop PM/PdM procedures along with forms and perform reliability studies.
Provides assistance to the Project/Design Group and Maintenance on electrical systems to insure that design of equipment and systems meets the intent of corporate and plant design standards.
Knowledgeable in the repair of Induction and Synchronous motors
Performs factory acceptance tests and monitors quality of repaired electrical components at vendors shop.
Troubleshoot and lead failure analysis on electrical equipment and recommend corrective or preventive measures.
Champions electrical system code compliance, including engineering to determine Arc Flash energy potential, area classification determination, and relay coordination. Maintains plant model using SKM Power Tools.
Maintains work priorities to meet departmental capital and expense goals as well as required project milestone schedules.
Assists in assuring that all plant, corporate, and industry standards and practices are evaluated and met or exceeded so that all systems are properly engineered and maintained. Must be familiar with industrial plant electrical supply and transmission systems. Knowledgeable of the NEC 70, NESC, NFPA 70E, NEMA MG-1, NETA , API RP 500, NFPA 496 and NFPA 497 codes.
Complies with all Process Safety Management and Management of Change compliance measures as well as Chevron Phillips Operational Excellence directives to insure that the design and operation of the plant electrical system meets or exceeds all requirements.

Qualifications
Require a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the repair of AC and DC motors is required. Experience with hands-on commissioning of instrument/electrical systems, electrical one-line diagrams, wiring/schematic diagrams, instrument loop and controls wiring diagram, control/protection relaying, and variable speed drives is desired. Experience working on plant electrical power systems, including preventative maintenance programs, electrical reliability analysis and improvement processes, power monitoring and electrical safe work practices would be considered a plus. Must be proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office, and Excel; knowledge/experience with Microsoft Project, ETAP or SKM Power Tools would be considered a plus. Must be able to navigate through SAP and track project development, scheduling and cost control for all project assignments.
