Responsibilities: Prepares Bills of Material (BOM) for electrical panels and machine components Design, check and modify electrical schematics, panel layouts, device and cable/installation layouts Design, check and modify Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs Design, check and modify Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs Start-up and test run equipment on the assembly floor and occasionally in the field Participate in Value Analysis (VA) sessions Write and modify technical manuals Regularly interfaces with the engineering team to share technical expertise Train customers and service representatives (some travel required) Skills: Knowledge of PLC: Allen Bradley (SLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix), Siemens (Simatic TI, S"), PLC Direct, Mitsubishi. Knowledge of HMO: Allen Bradley (PanelView, PanelView plus), Cutler Hammer (PanelMate, ePro) Wonderware, Indusoft Knowledge of VFD: Control Technique, Allen Bradley (PowerFLex 4, 40, 79, 700) Knowledge of Servo Drive: Rexroth, Allen Bradley Knowledge of Communications: Ethernet, DH+, DeviceNet, Profibus, ProfiNet Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Understands UL, CSA, CE, NEC, NFPA and related codes and their regulation requirements Excellent project management and technical, analytical, graphical and creative design skills Experience with analyzing job results and planning workflow Ability to prioritize and manage a multitude of tasks at the same time Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience Minimum five years ’ experience in machinery controls Compensation: $54,000 - $70,275 DOE Columbia Machine offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, short and long term disability, 401(k), incentive compensation, paid holidays, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
