The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis and troubleshooting of the electrical system of the fuel cell systems. The engineer will work with field service engineering, manufacturing and other engineering teams to improve field, vendor and manufacturing problems associated with the electrical design of the fuel cell system. Responsible for the control boards, power distribution, power conversion and wiring of the fuel cell system.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and implement electrical solutions to current platform fuel cell products.
Implement cost reduction, system and feature improvements on current fuel cell products.
Implement design board level, circuit design changes/improvements.
Improve current design and help to implement new designs on future platforms.
Work with sourcing and suppliers to aid with design/manufacturing related issues and obsolescence on circuit card and electrical components.
Responsible for test fixtures/test plans to support circuit card designs.
Perform testing on circuit cards, electrical components and fuel cell system.
Work with sourcing to find and engage suppliers who can provide hardware to meet our requirements.
Develop test plans to characterize and qualify electrical components on the bench and in actual systems.
Compile and document problem resolution reports.
Ability to interpret and clearly communicate ideas and issues in both written and verbal forms.
Must be willing to travel to field sites and supplier locations for troubleshooting, meetings, design reviews, and other critical activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years relevant experience.
DC Electrical System experience
Experience in embedded system design and analysis.
Experience in digital and analog circuit design and analysis.
