United States - Pennsylvania - Lancaster - Global Operations - Full-Time
This position is located at Y&S Candies in Lancaster, PA, a division of The Hershey Company. We produce a variety of licorice products at the Y&S facility. The incumbent will provide specialized technical leadership to the maintenance and production organization in order to maintain high performance manufacturing operations and the physical plant. This position will develop, implement, and maintain automation, packaging and process control systems for all plant equipment. This position also ensures that work under his / her direction complies with established engineering, sanitation, GMP, and safety standards.
NOTE: This is a 3rd Shift position
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, electronic, controls, and mechanical manufacturing and physical plant equipment and operations issues. Provide direction and training to maintenance technicians, operators, production supervisors and/or contractors for repair/replacement. Identify, justify, implement, and document process and equipment improvements, modifications, or new installations. Coordinate outside resources, such as engineers, service technicians, vendors, designers, suppliers, contractors, etc. Assist with developing, planning, scheduling, and implementing capital projects to improve plant performance, productivity, and reliability. Develop technical SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and communicate to affected employees as needed. Particpate and execute other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of established maintenance system and Good manufacturing Practices
Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals
Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, standards, and specifications (Industry & THC)
Excellent knowledge of Packaging, Processing, and industrial plant equipment and tool capabilities
Ability to test and troubleshoot electrical, packaging, & process equipment
Excellent knowledge of PLC’s, servo drives, controls integration,networks, and various controls software platforms
Ability to work in cooperative atmosphere with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be required
Excellent problem solving abilities
Ability to apply basic math
Good use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
Ability to work on other shifts and / or come in early or stay late as needed
Experience using SAP software program, specifically Plant Maintenance Specific knowledge and experience with Honeywell and Allen Bradley systems platforms
Technical experience working in a food, beverage or consumer packaged good industry
Successful candidates must meet the following minimum education and experience combination requirements:
Two year technical degree and at least 4 years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering
High school diploma/GED and at least 8 years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering
