The objective of the Electrical Maintenance Technician position is to efficiently analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems in process and plant equipment.
Position openings are available on our continuous operation 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, or 7:00 pm - 7:00am on a 2/2/3 schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize understanding of digital electronics, micro-computers, micro-processors, and industrial electrical circuitry and system.to efficiently analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems in process and plant equipment.
Thorough knowledge of three phase electricity, 110, 220, 440, AC and DC current. Must be able to troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair high voltage as well as control wiring.
Analyze, repair or replace solid state controls and power boards. Install all types of electrical equipment, i.e. wires, motors, controls, lighting, etc.
Know how to use and understand results of using voltmeters, ampmeters, oscilloscopes and/or other electrical metering devices when troubleshooting.
Know proper wire sizes and uses. Read and write schematics and wiring diagrams for controllers and panels.
Have good electrical/electronic analysis abilities and be able to troubleshoot and repair problems.
Know and understand electrical codes
Have the knowledge, skill, and ability to assist and train others in electric/electronic areas.
Provide guidance when working with other maintenance personnel on electrical/electronic systems
Perform all duties in a safe efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of PLC's , ladder logic, servo motors, AC/DC motors and drives.
Reliance/Yaskawa/Indramat, robotics exp. a plus!
Must have the ability to troubleshoot controls and drives and read electrical schematics and drawings
5-7 yrs. experience in a manufacturing environment
Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs required.
Education: Written & verbal communications skills; Math & computer skills, HS diploma or equivalent are required. Technical Associates Degree preferred.
