Parsons is seeking an Electrical Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector for a central utility plant improvement project in Washington, DC.
The Electrical QA/QC Inspector will perform daily construction inspections to assure compliance with construction plans and specifications.
Daily tasks include site inspections and reporting, contractor interface and assistance with the coordination of construction work within a central utility plant operating 24/7. Other responsibilities include; safety program compliance/oversight, participation in project meetings, photographic documentation and cataloging, coordination of system outages, identification/resolution of field conditions, change order estimating, and monitoring of contractor work performance against established schedules. Field-level support of the Commissioning process will also be required.
Experience working on large scale electrical projects is essential. Experience with central utility plant modernization projects is preferred.
Works as directed by the Construction Manager or Project Engineer.
Serves in a lead role and provides quality control inspection and quality assurance activities on assigned project and or functional areas to ensure that products or services provided are in accordance with customer and Parsons requirements. Regularly interacts with other employees, representatives from a variety of functional groups, and company management, suppliers, subcontractors and client on project.
Provides leadership to Quality Control staff.
Works with the on-site construction management team by providing leadership for Quality Assurance and Quality Control support activities for assigned program(s) or project(s) to ensure that products or services provided meet IAW customer and Parsons’ requirements.
Works with the CM team in providing leadership for development and implementation of Quality Control Programs, procedures, resource allocation, and training.
Develops, implements inspection, examination, and testing procedures.
Records and reports inspection, examination, and testing data on a daily basis via the PROLOG database.
Plans inspections, evaluations, and tests; sets up tests, including preparation and set-up of related equipment.
Evaluates the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination and testing results.
High School/Trade School diploma and 15 years of related construction experience as Quality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector.
Licensed Master Electrician
Experience working on large scale electrical projects is essential.
Experience with central utility plant modernization projects is preferred.
All inspectors must be tested for visual acuity and color discrimination as a part of employment.
Requires proficiency in the use of computers and software packages needed to support the documentation, analysis and retention of quality records.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
