.Our client, a well known Tulsa based refinery facility, has an immediate need for an E/I Designer (Electrical/Instrumentation Designer), a long term contract position with benefits, a petrochemical/oil & gas background is preferred. Salary, will be based on experience, salary range $22 per hour - $48 per hour. The Instrument Engineer/Specialist is responsible for the design and implementation of process instrumentation and control systems from initial conception through field installation. The Instrument Engineer/Specialist is responsible for designs that provide the most reliable and cost- effective instrument and control systems. In addition, the Instrument Engineer/Specialist provides consulting services to process designers in developing process design specifications, develops operating and training manuals for mechanical and process personnel, and participates in training operating personnel. The Instrument Engineer/Specialist writes purchase and construction specifications and writes and performs Factory Acceptance Tests. The Instrument Engineer/Specialist/Specialist specifies, procures, and configures Digital Control Systems, and field hardware such as transmitters, controllers, and electronic transmission systems.The Instrument Engineer/Specialist utilizes American Petroleum Institute (API) Standards, Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society (ISA) Standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other standards. May occasional have additional requests to assist in these areas: Instrumentation and controls capital projects engineering including front-end-loading, cost estimates, specifications and oversight of detailed design, Owning and leveraging the application of instrumentation safety standards, mechanical integrity, design, and maintenance, using documentation systems and processes which maintain accurate instrumentation equipment and control system information and drawingsSupporting criticality assessments of the plant's instrumentation equipmentDesigning Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design and maintenanceServing as a technical resource to properly identify new and existing equipment specifications and proper operating parameters/ranges for instrumentation equipmentOff site and on site, may interface with engineering groupPreferred Skills: Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Projects, Expert knowledge of field instrumentation and controls through design and field installation experience, Experience in low and medium voltage industrial electrical power equipment and distribution design
