Provide immediate trouble-call response to facility electrical anomalies and disruptions as reported to Customer Support Center and assigned through the Senior and or Working Leader. Maintain, inspect, test, alter, and repair building wiring systems, distribution equipment, and electrical components (lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm, power monitoring equipment, electronic controls, frequency drives, motors, generators, and building automation). Ensure the operational safety of electrical distribution system. Ensure compliance with NEC requirements. Consult wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, operations manuals; create as-built drawings as required. Typically, carry out assignments under minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot, identify and diagnose and repair faulty/overloaded/malfunctioning electrical wiring and troubleshoot and repair controls for electro-mechanical systems (i.e., motor controls, contractors, relays/coils, refrigeration units, chillers, gas-fired and electric boilers, industrial equipment and machinery, fire alarm and building automation system components,) using existing prints and hand-held test equipment or over current protection devices in building electrical distribution and lighting systems.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of power monitoring system, BTU monitoring system and associated field and computer interfaces in support of Laboratory energy conservation measures. Assist with coordination of service contracts (to include escorting contracted service technicians), assist with ensuring the proper operation of power monitoring server, ensure latest software revisions are installed and devices are reporting properly. Facilitate configuration.
Test motors, repair/rewire motor controls, test and repair variable frequency drive units and soft starts. Troubleshoot and repair 120V and 277V lighting circuits, replace lamps, ballasts, receptacles, switches, fuses, and circuit breakers. Maintain Uninterruptable Power Supplies; test and replace batteries and circuit boards in units from 1KVA single phase to 500KVA three phase.
15Test and repair 60 Hz wye and delta generators, 25 KW to 1200 KW diesel generators, and DC outputs from 24V to 480V. Operate, test and repair 33KV distribution equipment (transformers, switches, fuses, and insulators).
