SouthCoast is looking for a fulltime Clinical EMR Trainer
Job Summary
Responsible for Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training to include newly hired staff and physicians as well as existing physicians and employees Will have assigned responsibilities and tasks for training and support Responsible for tasks assigned by the Clinical Director and will work closely with the EMR team providers clinical staff and practice managers to assess the training needs and develop training tools Works closely with physicians and clinical staff to assess revise and document clinical workflows and processes therefore requires a detailed understanding of workflow processes in physician practices Responsible for improvement of the EHR through upgrades expansions and other ongoing development
Works with the Clinical Director to conduct ongoing audits to perform training needs analysis to determine focus of training initiatives Responsible for developing training programs based upon the needs of the organization the findings of internal audits and the results of needs analysis Assists in the development of systems training policies and procedures
Essential Job Responsibilities
Develops and maintains training exercises and materials for users of clinical information systems
1 Has knowledge of the organization’s clinical systems and clinical policies and procedures relevant to practice for each of the roles trained
2 Has ability to troubleshoot system issues
3 Develops and updates staff training materials as directed
4 Participates in system testing process for new functionality or system upgrades
5 Works collaboratively with members of the EMR team and the Clinical Director
1 Work as a part of the EMR team on projects as assigned by the Clinical Director
2 Caregiver Maintenance - Maintaining log-ins and security levels for users within the SCMG network
3 Provides follow up and refresher training for Providers and staff in the clinical areas validate workflow document problems and reports issues to vendor (managing Allscripts ticket process)
4 Assists with the measurement of benefits associated with process redesign and the implementation of technology and software as it relates to clinical practice
5 Ability to perform specific provider clinical customization
6 Works closely with the members of the IS department to accomplish overall highquality-high service provision of the EMR to end-users
7 Ongoing Training - Identify the need for develop carry out and monitor any training programs or informational forms for physician and employee development
8 Share weekly on-call duties with the other EMR team members to provide staff and providers 24/7 EMR support
9 Participate on EMR committee
10 Audit caregiver documentation to identify any training issues and develop a program to address these training issues and continue the monitoring process
11 Assist in the planning training implementation and support of all system upgrades
12 Assist in the planning training implementation and support process of all practice ‘go lives’
13 Assist in the ongoing customization of the electronic medical record under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Director
New Employee Training
1 Develop administer and maintain the approved SCMG new hire program for EMR
2 Develop and maintain physician and employee handbooks for EMR
3 Conduct monthly follow up and assessment of EMR competency for all new hires
4 Conduct quarterly corporate training for all existing staff in response to identified training needs
5 Aid in the planning and training of policies and procedures directly related to the EMR software system
Additional Duties
Has direct client interaction strong EMR and or clinical knowledge excellent analytical technical communication organizational project management interpersonal and team skills required
Able to work independently and pro-actively Possesses effective coaching team building skills excellent written and verbal communication skills
Provides implementation support during testing installation and upgrading application with attention to data integrity details
Responsible for supervision of the clinical PRN pool
Serves as liaison and point of contact for several departments
Consistently works and communicates in a positive and cooperative manner with patients coworkers medical staff and management when providing information and services as needed seeking assistance and clarifying and resolving problems
Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested Participates in professional development activities Attends conferences and workshops beneficial to company goals
Ensures strictest confidentiality of sensitive information
Associate degree in healthcare or technology required LPN or RN Nursing degree preferred
Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience in a medical office Experience in a teaching or supervisory role preferred Knowledge of medical office workflow practices preferred
Current licensure in Nursing & c urrent CPR certification
