DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent will be heavily involved in monitoring and supporting the company’s internal trading applications. He or she will be a key contributor in supporting, troubleshooting, and integrating multi-asset class trading applications and ensuring problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will be working in a cross–functional environment, in close cooperation with many diverse areas of the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot trading application issues, determine source of problems, and identify solutions for internal and external clients, using technical and analytical expertise and knowledge of systems.
Categorize, prioritize and resolve software application issues dealing with all levels of order routing.
Interface with external business and technical partners.
Participate in testing, internal documentation, release, and pre/post installation support for multi-asset class trading applications
Interpret client requests and take appropriate action to produce solutions that are balanced with business needs.
Proactively seek ways to provide better service (e.g. process improvement) both tactically and strategically.
Provide an overall atmosphere of continuity and transparency with respect to application releases, resolution of issues and other system matters impacting our internal and external clients.
Deliver the project-based activities required without compromising daily support service delivered to business
users.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively monitor Windows and Unix Server based applications including trade management
system and algorithm servers
Execute on the fly configuration changes for external clients.
Perform morning and evening system health checks
Perform capacity and resource analysis to ensure proper load balancing and redundancy
Provide off-hours support during weekends, holidays and on an emergency basis; some key nights and
weekends may require on-site coverage
Communicate with multiple departments on closure on escalated support calls.
Communicate effectively with key business users and managers regarding day-to-day support.
Face-to-face support to internal and external clients.
Participate in recovery outage scenarios.
Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for new Production application/functionality.
Daily testing in Production environment.
Enter Support tickets into a tracking database for reporting purposes

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a cross-functional environment including development,
networking, operating systems, database, application servers and web service
Proven knowledge of global equity, option and futures markets
Demonstrated ability to resolve a variety of trading and pricing issues, such as incorrect reports from external destinations, busted trades, price corrections and erroneous trades.
Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and ability to follow through with open issues until
resolved
Ability to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly
to changes
Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions within high pressured environments
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to handle cross-group short term and long term projects, seeing them to completion.
Demonstrated ability to see the big picture while simultaneously defining detailed requirements.
Demonstrated ability of successful implementation and support of highly scalable and highly available
systems in an n-tier environment that may involve a global focus
Demonstrated ability to carry out a client setup, including setting up the initial workflow, as well as carrying out
technical details
Previous experience implementing and supporting highly scalable and highly available systems in a trading environment.
Proven knowledge and understanding of each layer of a software and overall order flow within the systems.
Technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Exchanges
FIX protocol
Trading Rules and Regulations
Series 7, 55 & 63 Certifications Preferred
Advanced Windows Server Scripting Preferred

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent technical discipline
5-7 Years of Relevant Experience in Second Level Trading support role.
