BAE Systems is developing systems in the Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and geolocation domains of Electronic Warfare (EW). Motivated and positive minded engineers skilled in the ESM and geolocation domains are needed for cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams.
BAE Systems is focused on enhancing operational EW capabilities for a wide variety of platforms. Constituent to the electronic warfare objectives of improving air vehicle survivability and executing the suppression and destruction of enemy air defenses, BAE Systems develops technology for direction finding (DF) and geolocation based on RF sensing, signal processing, and detection and estimation for application on existing programs and acquisition of new programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will involve developing new ESM/geolocation systems and performing systems engineering functions such as developing and managing systems level requirements, developing operational systems concepts, performing system architecture trade studies, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems.
Responsibilities may include:
1. Performing one of more of the following systems engineering functions:
a. Analyzes and develops ESM and geolocation solutions to current and emerging threats to airborne platforms.
b. Reviews, develops and documents system level operational concepts and mission statements.
c. Develops and evaluates complex system designs and architectures.
d. Develops and analyzes mathematically complex and computationally intricate ESM and geolocation algorithms.
e. Verifies and validates complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
2. Supporting proposal development activities, including prposal text development, cost estimating and presentation activities.
3. Leading a group or task, to include being responsible for scheduling, assigning work, reviewing the technical adequacy of work products, meeting cost and schedule for assigned group and interface coordination with other groups.
4. Estimating systems cost and schedules by reviewing statements of work for new and revised projects.

Required Education: Bachelors and 4+ year(s) related experience Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in an Engineeering or Scientific field or equivalent experience,Employees in California must have a Bachelor’s degree in the applicable field, or an applicable certification, equivalent certificate or any required license. Equivalent experience will not be considered. Required Skills: A candidate is sought to work in the arts of direction finding and geolocation. The following describes the desired candidate: • The candidate will have good critical thinking skills that will be exercised across varied granularities, from highly constrained deductions to relatively unconfined “big picture” reasoning. The candidate will excel at problem solving and have the ability to produce concrete results despite significant ambiguities in the problem space. • The candidate will have a solid background in mathematics as related to physical systems. An educational background in electrical engineering or applied physics is advantageous. Specific skill sets include deterministic and statistical signal processing, detection and estimation, linear algebra, modeling and simulation, and numerical methods. The aptitude to comfortably work with complex mathematics and differential calculus in vector-matrix spaces is necessary. The candidate will have strong Matlab programming skills, including the ability to read, assimilate, and synthesize highly vectorized code, to facilitate algorithm development and refinement. • The candidate will have strong oral presentation skills and the ability to publicly speak clearly, concisely, and comfortably, with the acuity to convey highly technical subject matter in pithy and intuitive fashion. • The candidate will be capable of learning and working independently, harnessing natural curiosity to assimilate cross-disciplinary material, forge an understanding of the problem space, and develop the necessary skill sets to produce results. It is understood that any candidate is unlikely to have all the skills as above described and it is expected that some of those skills will be acquired through on the job growth. Preferred Skills:
