We currently have a need for a Temporary Electronics Technician for premier University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following are the responsibilities and required skills for the incumbent. Position is a lucrative opportunity to develop new skills or improve skills, and strengthen resume.
Electronics Technician Summary:
This position provides electronic services and hardware support for the Undergraduate Design Laboratory.
Electronics Technician Responsibilities:
Assist the Undergraduate Design Laboratory Director in his/her functions.
Provide EECS Faculty with occasional assistance as needed.
Provide support for the Undergraduate Design Laboratory.
Serve as building monitor for Undergraduate Design Laboratory.
Support safety monitoring and safety devices in Undergraduate Design Laboratory.
Provide electronic services for faculty, instructors, student groups and individual student projects.
Conduct regular scheduled maintenance of equipment and repair as needed.
Purchase supplies for maintenance and repair.
Instruct students and faculty to assure safe and proper use of equipment.
Oversee equipment moves and set-up.
Assist in maintaining equipment inventories.
Electronics Technician Requirements:
Four years industrial bench experience in the use and repair of electronic instrumentation.
Associate’s degree or minimum of two years of college required. BA/BS preferred. Equivalent knowledge and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
A willingness to work with students.
Excellent electrical/electronics component-level skills and troubleshooting skills.
Theoretical as well as strong practical background in electricity and electronics.
Experience in electronics and firmware.
Skilled in the art of repairing and maintaining electronic equipment, especially electronic test equipment and instrumentation.
Applications will be expected to present examples of their electronics skills.
