The Bon Air Maintenance Complex is seeking an electronics technician to perform assigned general maintenance duties; Duties include install, repair, maintain, test and complete preventative maintenance on all complex electrical and electronic systems and equipment to include: security networking/surveillance, environmental control, communication (phone, radio), alarm, generator, telephone, maintenance and computer systems and equipment. Coordinate with agency, commonwealth and other vendors to achieve this objective as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of electronics history, encompassing trouble-shooting, calibration, test procedures, circuit analysis and repair, for computers and peripheral equipment is needed. Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex electronic surveillance/locking equipment; to read blue prints, wiring diagrams, schematics; to plan and conduct inspections; and perform calibrators, voltage meters, gauges and other testing apparatus and equipment, and in the use of standards electronic technician's hand tools is also needed. The ability to organize and prioritize work is important. A valid VA driver's license is needed by the time of employment.

Preferred Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent with additional coursework in electronics or a related field. Working knowledge of correctional security systems including electronic surveillance/locking equipment and associated apparatus and operating capabilities. Progressively responsible electronics experience, including the installation, maintenance and repair of complex electronic equipment.
