The Interactive Media Group (IMG) provides the media and graphics foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod, iTunes, and Mac OS. Key Qualifications
3+ years experience working as part of a software development team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work accordingly.
Object oriented programming and design skills.
Unix/Linux required, OS X a major plus.
Knowledge of streaming media protocols and experience developing audio/video streaming solutions is a big plus.
Familiar with MPEG2, H.264/JVT, AAC, AC3 as well as common media container formats.
Familiar with A/V compression/decompression, synchronization technology.
Applications engineering experience and understanding of video quality evaluation and testing a major plus.

The Media Systems team is looking for a software engineer with a strong technical and programming background. The successful candidate for this role is a team-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, comfortable in a fast-paced environment. You have experience working on embedded/mobile platforms implementing complex behaviors. You have a strong background in Video and Audio, a good understanding of the various media formats and experience evaluating and improving visual quality. You will work together with various development teams to ensure quality. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of methodical video and audio quality evaluation strategies and accompanying documentation.

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
