Embedded Software Engineer (Job Number: 318427)
JOB DESCRIPTION: The candidate will be responsible for developing embedded software for military avionics systems. Support Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and embedded software development activities using software development tools including requirements management, UML modeling, and configuration management tools. Provide full software life cycle development (requirements analysis, design, code, integration, test, documentation and support) following CMMI processes. Applicant will support in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews; technical interchange meetings, and other management meetings as needed. Must have a working knowledge of C/C++ and experience developing software for DSP, real-time, and embedded systems. Experience with Ada desirable. Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design methods using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). Candidates should have a knowledge of software development processes, documentation, and CMMI. Development experience with DSPs (Analog Devices Blackfin/VisualDSP (preferred) or TI DSP CCS), VxWorks Linux/Embedded Linux, LynuxWorks/LynxOS, Microsoft Visual Studio, and partitioned real time operating systems. Experience using JTAG emulator/debugger, scopes, and other hardware tools is required. Experience with low-level hardware/software interfaces design and coding required. TCP/IP/UDP experience a plus. VHDL experience a plus. Fusion RTOS experience a plus. Combat Net Radio interface (ARC201, ARC231) experience highly desired. Experience with software requirements tools (IBM DOORS is highly desirable), and configuration management tools (perforce, SVN). Use of standard office PC tools experience (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required. 10+ years of experience developing DSP and embedded software is required. 4 additional years of experience may be in lieu of degree.
