The EMT Skills Instructor works
under the supervision of the EMT Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC) and
is responsible for conducting training in various emergency services
disciplines. The Skills Instructor assists the CIC in providing skills
training during the Emergency Medical Technician Program. The candidate is
responsible for following curriculum and course materials, providing
hands-on training and assisting with training demonstrations. The candidate
will also be responsible for ensuring the program is conducted in compliance
with the requirements of the EOC and the curriculum, policies and procedures
of the New York State (NYS) Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Emergency
Medical Services (EMS).
QUALIFICATIONS: Five years paid or volunteer
experience in an Emergency Services agency, certification by the New York
State Department of Health as a Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC) or
Certified Lab Instructor (CLI), and either: (a) certification as a New York
State Fire Instructor Level I or acceptable equivalent; or (b) current
certification as a New York State Emergency Medical technician (EMT, EMT-I,
EMT-CC or EMT-P).
