Natural Gas Emissions Technician

As the Natural Gas Emissions Technician, you will be responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Write full reports on findings from field service events, with clear, concise information
  • Communicate daily clear comprehensive field reports regarding assigned units
  • Operate and maintain emission analyzers in good working order
  • Ability to calibrate emission analyzers according to the appropriate EPA or ASTM methodologies
  • Utilize software tools associated with analyzer equipment
  • Ability to operate analyzers to perform EPA and state agency test protocols as needed
  • Ensure field equipment is operating under current emissions guidelines/standards
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures in a safe and courteous manner
  • Other related duties as required

Our ideal candidate will be a dependable, reliable individual with the ability to perform work independently with little supervision. The candidate must be able to read electrical schematics and equipment mechanical drawings in order to be successful. The candidate must be knowledgeable about safety rules and practices. Additional qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree in Automotive Service Technology or similar discipline is preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with Natural Gas compressor engines (Caterpillar, Waukesha, etc.) focused on maintenance and/or emission testing
  • Prior Field service experience in a fast pace environment is required
  • Current, valid drivers license is required to operate company vehicles
  • Microsoft Excel computer skills and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 70 lbs., apply up to 200 foot pounds of torque
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads on an as needed basis
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • Ability to travel up to 90%
