Volunteers of America Texas is a faith based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and wellbeing through a vast array of services that target the elderly, the intellectually disabled, those striving to overcome substance abuse, and those transitioning from correctional centers.

The Employment Specialist/ Coach supervises the client's job development program within the Policies and Procedures of VOA-TX and the sponsoring agency. No direct staff supervisory responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and supervises the job development program.
Conducts Job Readiness class to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining full-time, permanent employment.
Maintains client employment documentation and verification as required by sponsoring agencies.
Develops and maintains potential employment opportunities.
Establishes vocational and educational resources in the community; makes referrals as required or needed.
Ensures the timely collection of client fees/wages and maintains appropriate documentation.
Submits accurate program reports in a timely manner.
Attends weekly client staffing meetings.
Conducts on-site employment visitations for clients as required.
Approves job search itineraries for clients on a daily basis.
Assumes on-call responsibilities as scheduled.

Knowledge of basic computer functions.

Other Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University plus three years experience in applicable social and/or financial services. Masters degree is highly preferred
A Texas Drivers License is required and the ability to be insured.
Financial Coaching Certification considered a plus.
