This position will provide oversight for a local office Re-employment Services (RES) program. Responsibilities include employment coaching, instructing participants in job search to include job search tips, resume preparation, online applications, labor market information, and education and training opportunities. Provides job search assistance and job referrals via on-going contact with program participants. Interviews job applicants to match their qualifications with employer needs, recording and evaluating applicant experience, education, training, and skills. Contact employers to solicit orders for job vacancies, determining their requirements and entering relevant data into DWS’s job matching system. Must have general knowledge of DWS programs as well as JobLink partner programs and services. Develops cooperative working relationships with JobLink partners and other local service providers in order to refer and assist RES participants. Refers applicants to services to help remove barriers to employment. Conducts a variety of job seeking skills workshops for RES participants or coordinate with partner agencies to provide seminars/workshops. Will develop and coordinate networking groups and Job Fairs for RES participants. Will utilize a variety of assessment and career exploration tools in assisting participants. Document all services provided to program participants. Reports RES program activities data as directed by State Office staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Must have general knowledge of DWS organization, operations, and objectives. Knowledgeable of accepted interviewing, and employment techniques, and some knowledge of unemployment insurance procedures and policies. General knowledge of state and local labor market and employment conditions. Ability to assign, direct, and review the work of subordinates. Ability to gather information, make informed decisions, and utilize good judgment. Possess strong organization skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form. Ability to explain and apply rules and regulations concerning agency programs. Possess superior quality customer service skills.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
