This position is responsible for managing a mid-sized state employment service office with a staff of 16 to 20 employees. Job duties and responsibilities consist of planning and directing activities of the staff in providing employment service, unemployment insurance, job training and labor market information services to the public and managing operations of a JobLink Career Center. This position is also responsible for providing guidance and leadership to various JobLink partners while serving as the Center manager, and will interact closely with local employers, economic development entities, public officials, and other employment and training and human service organizations to ensure the appropriate delivery of service to customers. Work is performed independently under the administrative supervision of a regional manager .
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
This position requires a thorough knowledge of the Division of Workforce Solutions organization, and the ability to analyze and interpret data related to local employment and economic conditions. It also requires the interpersonal skills and abilities needed to establish and maintain working relationships with customers, employers, community organizations, media representatives, and the general public, and the communication skills and abilities to express oneself both clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and six years of experience in public or private employment service related work including two years in a supervisory capacity.
Degrees must be received from accredited colleges or university.
